Deep in the high desert sits a panel of rock art that has quietly stumped everyone who has ever looked at it. This Barrier Canyon Style pictograph is large, red, and ancient. Some figures date to somewhere between 1,500 and 4,000 years ago, though similar imagery found nearby has been dated to over 7,000 years old. Nobody fully agrees on what these figures represent. Some say shamans. Some say spirit beings. Some say something else entirely. In this video we hike out to find it, take a close look at the figures, explore a hidden cave behind the panel, and try to make sense of something that may never fully make sense.
